Our Friend, Sally Chambers

It is with a heavy heart that I write these words. Indeed, it is hard to believe our dear friend and esteemed
colleague Sally Chambers is no longer with us on this planet. No words can adequately express our gratitude
to a woman who stood for all that is good in the world. Nothing we can say will ease the grief of her loving
husband, whom she adored. All that we can hope to convey to her family and friends is the love and respect
that Sally held within our ranks. She was an extraordinary human being.

Sally always had a happy smile for all whom she greeted and her touch of English humor permeated the room
wherever she entered. Her life’s work and passion was to work with Arizona exporters, helping them to
expand their global footprint and offering them relevant solutions that helped small and medium sized
companies grow their markets. Sally was committed to the success of her clients. She worked with companies
through Export University and arranged trade missions for companies to introduce them to foreign markets in
their industry sector. Not only was Sally a fully committed trade professional, she was also a proud naturalized
American who never lost even a trace of her unmistakable English accent, a dog lover, a Guns and Roses
aficionado, and above all a warm and loyal friend. Sally worked tirelessly with the Arizona District Export
Council and was a strong advocate for educating people about international trade issues. Her positive influence
spans the globe through the companies that she helped in the export arena. Her legacy will live on through the
successes of the many hundreds of companies she worked with throughout her career.

Although the tendency may be to focus on the sense of loss here today -and yes, there is a huge sense of loss
when we consider our friend is no longer physically with us – Sally’s energy is powerfully here with us. She
was a woman who was always so full of life and the possibilities that life held. Sally would be the first to
suggest that we CELEBRATE her life. Life is short. We never know when our time here on earth will end.
Sally Chamber’s life was cut short, but she will always be remembered for what she stood for. Her
contributions to the Arizona export business community will continue to be felt far into the future. Her bright
light and energy have left their mark on us as surely as the Arizona sunset lights up the mountains here in the
valley.

Sally had a contagious smile and personality that everyone fell in love with. We’re smiling back at you good friend and will be thinking of you often….
